> A rich cultural heritage
Cycle through winegrowers’ villages which have retained their charm and heritage. Distinguished by the local architecture of our ancestors, the winegrowers’ houses are works of art in tufa stone surrounded by vineyards.
Tufa stone history has been passed down through the Châteaux of the Loire Valley and the character that the stone gives Saumur wines.
> An outing for the whole family
The circuit consists mostly of country tracks and lanes open to everyone. It goes through woods, villages and vineyards.
Practical information:
- 4 kilometre circuit, consisting of 9 observation points of interest (POI), goes through 5 winegrowing villages: Chacé, Varrains, Chaintres, Champigny and Saint Cyr en Bourg.
- Circuit profile: Road and track circuit type - hybrid. Warning, this circuit is not sign posted.
- A PDF file of the stops can be downloaded at the top or bottom of the page and are available at the visitors’ centre. Including GPS coordinates of the 9 POIs as well as a detailed map of the route.
- For your own security, please respect road signs and be aware of farm traffic on the tracks.
- Protect the environment: please use litter bins provided on the circuit or back at the wine cellar.
- At the end of your outing why not visit our wine cellar and discover our wines. (Drinking water and toilets provided)*
