The Cave of Saumur welcomes you to free of charge. Stopovers are limited to 48 hours.
This “aire”  is open from 15th March to the 15th September.

On the route of the châteaux of the Loire valley, Saumur is at the heart of one of the most beautiful provinces of France and the Val de Loire which is a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site. Numerous unusual sights await you. Tourist guides and brochures are available at the wine cellar.

The wine cellar of the Cave de Saumur is open everyday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. (Closed on Sundays out of season). You can taste wines produced in our cellar and “savour our vines”:

• Visit a remarkable site: : ou will be submerged in 10 kilometres of underground caves where you will discover the extraordinary history of the vines of the Val de Loire and the caves, jewels of the Saumur region. Saumur wine production will no longer be a mystery to you. Guided visits from May to September. Times of visits on display at the wine cellar. (Entrance fee: 2.50€ per person).

• Tasting free of charge: Professionals will guide you in tasting Saumur wines in a friendly, pleasant atmosphere.
• Cycle route: : Leave the Cave de Saumur by bike and find out about the vineyards, the winegrowers’ work and local heritage. Free circuit, approximately 20 kilometres of trails and tracks. Don’t forget your bikes. A circuit guide is available at the wine cellar.
